About ME

The concept of "Baking to Beat Cancer" was born from a desire to help the sarcoma community through my love of baking. I spent 2020 obtaining all the certifications and licensing necessary to legally operate a home bakery and can often be seen selling at the Jasper Farmer's Market. (You can't miss that bright yellow tent!) I spend much of my free time experimenting with various treats and tweaking techniques, constantly asking for feedback, so I can make quality products everyone can enjoy.

What makes my operation unique, however, is that I donate all my profits, splitting the funds among various nonprofits that fall in line with my own mission and values, as well as individuals local to me that need some assistance in their own cancer journey.

However, even though I've branched out to help organizations and individuals who are completely unrelated to sarcoma, that very rare form of cancer continues to be root motivation of all that I do. I look forward to being able to work with more sarcoma-related nonprofits in the future and have several that I'm currently vetting.

What is Sarcoma?

Sarcoma is a rare, but extremely aggressive, cancer of soft tissue and bone. Although no one knows for certain, it's believed there are over 75 subtypes of sarcoma. It disproportionately affects children, and the mortality rate is unacceptably high.

Sarcoma makes up approximately 1% of all cancer diagnoses, but 20-25% of pediatric diagnoses

Because sarcomas rarely cause symptoms in early stages, tumors can grow quite large, or the cancer can metastasize before detection

Sarcomas can arise from a variety of tissue structures, including nerves, muscles, joints, bones, fat, and blood vessels, found anywhere in the body

Even with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, sarcoma is curable only 50% of the time

I'm in love with this bakery. First of all the customer service was on point. Super helpful and sweet. The cookies are so yummy I couldn’t stop eating them. She uses real cookie icing instead of the hard royal icing, so they're 'perfectly imperfect' and delicious. The cookie design was one of a kind. I came with a simple idea and she knocked it out of the park. Thank you so much!"

Lisa's chocolate chip cookies are AMAZING! My mother and my husband are cookie aficionados and they both said these were the best they had ever eaten!"

Melissa P.

Those cookies were delicious!"

Sierra C.

It was 'the best' chocolate chip cookie that I have ever had!! Your cookies are delicious!!! They are perfect!! Thank you so much!"

Karen G.

These are my favorite cookies ever!!! I've bought custom cookies, as well as regular cookies and I've never been disappointed. These are my favorite treats for sure, especially the chocolate peanut butter Rice Krispie Treats."

Nicolette T.

The variety of products is fantastic, but once you take a bite of a chocolate chip cookie you'll be hooked."

Lori L.

I got to try a [trendy, well-known bakery] cookie today. I had my choice of several flavors, but I chose the chocolate chip, so I could compare it to Lisa's recipe. Lisa's recipe won in a landslide! Although the [trendy, well-known bakery] cookie is good, I believe that Lisa's cookie has a better chocolate taste and quality. All that said, I still prefer the peanut butter chip ones!"

Susie S.

The best goodies in Jasper!!! Lemon bars, dippy doos, and covered pretzels are my favs! Don't forget the OG BIG cookies!"
